I think it would be wrong for them to take away these benifits now, especially since 6,600 people are counting on it. What are they expecting all of these retired people to do? Without their health care and health insurance their future probably wont look too good.

Cutting aid to former employees is definitely not the way to go. Most of these people can no longer work and the benefits are all they have to pay for medical aid. This cannot simply be considered a legal problem because people's lives and welfares are at stake. I hope the judge doesn't get caught up in legal terms and monetary figures and forget about the human, the most important, aspect of this dispute!

Think about all the people who are receiving cancer treatments and other lifesaving treatments. What are they going to do when suddenly their means to pay for these treatments are no longer there? These judges and businessmen need to put themselves in the retires shoes. Then would they be so quick to take away their benefits?

They deserve the aid. This is wrong.

There had to have been warning signs. I'll await an official statement from the company before we make a rash judgement. Who knows? The company could have been telling these people to privatize their social security eons before they began following through with it.

This example demonstrates exactly how serious our country's current situation truly is. People's lives are being put in jeopardy, and this economic crisis is continually getting worse.

I agree that they need to get the aid, but we have to remember that these companies that fuel our nation need to maintain a healthy business. It's not a good thing that this has to be so, but it is, and we should be looking for ways to support both sides of this situation.

I agree with amanda, people have been relying on there retirement for a long time and they need it and deserve to have it!

They definitely need the money but at the same time, the amount of elderly people is increasing and this is going to make it difficult to continue to pay for retirement like this. Somehow we need to develop a better system that will help the elderly retirees but not bankrupt the companies.
